Turquoise Furniture
For quite some time….I’ve been obsessed with curvy/Frenchy turquoise furniture. I’m must be out of style….because lately….I’ve been finding quite a bit of it. Or maybe…folks are just sick of the look that EVERY piece of this furniture comes in….creamy white….with a gold wash…and gold accents. EVERY one of them!!!
I did another one of these little recycled treasures for a guest post I did over at The NY Melrose Family….If you have a chance….go check out Jenny’s site. Otherwise…You’ll see that on Thursday. I don’t recall where I acquired this one….I’ve been trying to put a set together for my guest bedroom for a good while.
Now…..if Y’all know anything about me….you’ve probably figured out that RED is my favorite color!!! I sincerely could live in a house with ALL red rooms and be perfectly content. Now….that’s not to say that I might still want to paint it in six months. But honestly….no lie…I have actually used the same fabric/curtains in three houses now. It’s mostly red…and my kids say it’s grandma fabric….but I adore it…and some day…I’ll do a post for Y’all on it….ANYHOO….back to my story. I’m gonna do some red in that room when I get it done, but for now my daughter is living in it…and she HATES red…..no….LOATHES red. So….I wanted to paint the furniture a color that she would be happy with…but would look good with my red when she leaves. What color do I LOVE LOVE LOVE with red?……Turquoise!!!! Sara likes truquoise….so….we cut a deal! Turquoise furniture it is….but not just turquoise….a finish that says….”I’ve been on this earth….a long time…and I’ve been loved.” This is what I came up with………..
Doesn’t she just look stunning against my chocolate wall? I’m not sure what color Sara will pick for her walls….but after seeing this…..she might pick chocolate! YUMMMMMMMMMO!!!! Oh…my favorite color might just change to turquoise furniture!
What’s your favorite color? Do you like newer paint styles….or do you like an older look? What colors would Y’all put with red….turquoise?
Till later!
Love Y’all!

what color of paint did you use
Tammy says
I used about four colors. I put an undercoat of Benjamin moore’s bittersweet chocolate. The turquoise….I’m not sure about…because the label is peeled off. But I mixed it with a dusty navy blue. I will try to get the color of the the turquoise for you though. =]

Is this done with your “sand distressing” method too? It’s over the top gorgeous!
Tammy says
No…I just dry brushed several different colors of blues and turquoise over the chocolate….then I used rub and buff in antique gold and spanish copper. And….Thank You!
