Bowl for a Betta Fish
Last week when I was working in the new booth….I dropped a swag light with two globes, and broke one….unfortunately I had already done one of my paint treatments on it, luckily only one….so it became a single….=[ Now although this saddened me….it made my betta fish a very happy camper.
Last week I lucked out and grabbed a glass globe at Goodwill. With a game plan in mind for a funky new home for a betta fish I went to work on this job!
Today at Wally World….I rescued a little betta fish and this is what I did with the top half of the broken light….and a Goodwill globe!
Keep in mind the size of the opening if you plan on doing one of these. The swag lights are getting harder and harder to locate, as they have come back into fashion lately. This really doesn’t surprise me…I’ve been enamored by them for a really long time. Although, this isn’t my normal type of rescue.
This little mishap and a big fat idea caused another kind of rescue. The kind of rescue I seem to do a lot of these days. Look at that poor baby….I hope he makes it! =] He’s in really bad shape…but that’s kinda why I bought him. I love a challenge. I do this with plants too. What is it about the underdog that tugs at my heart?

There it’s a hole at the top where the wires ran in…but also the top screws off…like if you were changing the light bulb.

lol….I think maybe I need to re-write this article or something….several folks have gotten the impression that he’s outside….he’s not…he’s in my kitchen…I’ve also gotten some bad feedback on the size of his bowl…and I’m actively searching for one of the larger….probably 5 gallon bowls to hang….if I don’t find one…I’ll probably just move him to a standard fish bowl….and make this for plants….I don’t want PETA to come shoot my windows out! lol
