House remodel part 4

Today…..I’m covering the remodel of the last three rooms of this house.

Why Three?….Well, one is a guest bedroom, and fairly redundant.

It and my bedroom remodel got texture, paint, carpet and the closet treatment as in Sara’s room. Not overly exciting sounding….

but WOW what a difference paint makes!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The bathroom remodel….like the other was paneled…wallpapered…and floresent lighting! It was open to the bedroom….like a hotel which was really strange! We added a wall with a pocket door to close it in…but I didn’t take pictures of that. You can see the trim though in one of the shots….look close…..it’s in the mirror!

Here you can see that we replaced lighting and framed the mirror. There were mirrors at a forty-five in each of the corners….just cutting the counter space in here really short…You can see what I did with those here…..I never throw anything out….so I HAD to do something with them! We also…..of course….added a switch to the closet….and replaced the door and shelving……oops….once again…no pics!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This bathroom was also separated by an odd door that opened into the toilet/bath area! Good Lands! You can see where we left a pony wall here, during the remodel, to keep the tub enclosed  It was opened up on the other side and tiled for shampoo and “stuff”…..never waste an opportunity to suck up some storage!!!

This bathroom didn’t have a shower….which doesn’t bother me….but EVERYONE else in my family showers so this HAD to be changed!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Because it didn’t have a shower…we didn’t have to rip out nearly as much of that BEAUTIFUL tile….but I did have to add mine! The REAL treat came when we opened the wall to add the shower plumbing! We discovered that the builder made this wall double thick…(instead of the usual 2×4….they made it 8!….and if you know me….that means ….you guessed it! ……….STORAGE!!!!!! The shelves in the corner weren’t there.

We would have put them all the way across this wall….but we really needed a towel bar there….so we compromised. In the end….we put a door on the bottom portion to hide the cleaner and stuff….tiled her up….and VOILA! =]
