Grass-head Wreath
I admit it….It was me. I was the one on the grassy knoll. Yup, it was me…right there….cutting the grass.
I’ve heard it said…you should cut the grass…not smoke it. So that’s what I did.
I’ve been noticing all the seed heads that have popped up along the road side. This time of year, all the plants are busy trying to make their descendants before the first freeze. I’ve been crushing on the fluffy…fuzzy…and spiky seed heads. I’m even loving more and more of the grain heads….like my milo topiary from last week. I think this grass would look stunning on a square wreath also. There are a lot of ways you could make this…but this is my way. I really didn’t even have to use much hot glue. Most of the seed heads I just secured through the twines of the grapevine.
By grouping your different types of heads together…you will get more impact from them. One at a time, they really won’t show up much.
I will most likely place this outside on my door. It’s got tons of seeds…and they want to find their way to the earth. I really don’t want them sprinkling about my living room. It’s gorgeous….but it’s definitely messy messy messy.
Once I placed all my seed heads into the wreath…I took an inexpensive fall swag from the hobby store…and wove it around the wreath. Then I tied a cute little burlap bow and attached it where I thought it looked good.
Would you like a post of bows?
This finalizes the wreath week. I hope you enjoyed them. If you missed any of them…he’s a recap of this weeks posts.
