OH….the many uses for old books!
My daughter and I have a book fetish….literally!!! We have more books than most people SEE in a lifetime….my mother says we devour them…NOT literally…lol but we do LOVE to read, and not just read…we LOVE to look through them. We love the words….the text…I can’t really explain it…..ANYHOO…
We find ourselves drawn to the book section of any place we encounter that has one. Goodwill is no exception….I have NEVER torn or defaced one…..(it’s always been a CARNAL sin in our house.) but I just couldn’t resist trying this….and I think there will be more!!! =] The uses for old books are flooding my mind…as I type this!
I grabbed some hardback books at the Goodwill….and as you can see….some belts….(LATER).
I wasn’t sure when I started exactly what I would do to them….but I knew I sort of wanted them to match…so I grabbed some latex paint…..I also have a fetish for paint….and migrate to the “oops” section of any store with paint.
I really admire the way stacks of books look…I just find the artful way they lay charming….I know….I’m weird!
I decided to decoupage so of my scrapbook paper to them (OHHH….the many uses for “mod podge!)…and I really like the way they turned out….what do you think?
Love Y’all!

I, too, love books. I probably have a few in every room. If it’s a book, it’s not clutter. 🙂

I completely agree Rebecca! I just love books in every room!

I love books too! They’re my constant companions. And I like the stacking idea, been doing it myself for 100 years. Tying a stack up with the burlap strip is a great idea. I’ll be doing that. But HOW did you do that letter “P”? Did you find it like that, or did you do some boogedy-boogedy to it to make it look sooo good?
