Arranging Wildflowers
Who loves wildflowers…arranging wildflowers? This girl does. I know of very few flowers growing on the earth that I don’t adore. While some may see wildflowers as weeds, I see them as the beginning of an arrangement. When I go for a walk in the pasture…as I do sometimes to watch the sunsets in the country, I catch myself plucking as I go along… Picking… Smelling…. Gathering…. Basically, enjoying what God has given us to enjoy. One of the things I love about wildflowers, there are no rules. It’s really meant that way, in my mind. I love the haphazard way a pasture looks….just wherever the wind blows the seeds…that’s where they emerge. Isn’t it amazing how they manage to survive what ever elements occur. One of my favorite poems sums it up perfectly for me:
By the way…this is completely downloadable/printable for personal use….just click on the image above.
After a long day…or before a hectic one, there is no better stress relief in the world for me, than a walk in the pasture gathering flowers. I love to have flowers sitting on the table.
When I have a hand full of flowers, I do just as they do in nature….gather and group where they fall. There are lots of “techniques” for arranging wildflowers….but I think wildflowers just look better placed however they fall. To me…they are meant to be wild and untamed. Not formal, stuffy and following rules. Even their container isn’t formal….just the way I like.
I take something simple and delicate to tie around my jar, just for a feminine touch.
Do you like to pick wildflowers? Do you follow arranging rules…or do you let them fall haphazardly into the jar?
I ADORE these “Vintage looking” jars. They are just the perfect blue!

Such a beautiful arrangement! We don’t get quite as many wildflowers out here in the desert, but maybe I’ll get a chance to try this someday. 🙂

This is my kind of post. I’m always looking for wildflowers to pick. Fall is a good time too, though many would not think so. In Fall, you have bittersweet, vines, pods, and those tessels. They make a ,love ly bouquet.
I completely agree Lisa…Fall is one of the best times for picking wildflowers. I love them…and obviously you do too! 😀
