Gardening: a Mother’s Day Idea
Gardening doesn’t have to be boring…and this idea is just the proof!
I’m thinking this is a cool project anyone could do for Mother’s day. I’m posting a week early this week in time for Y’all to do this fast project for your mom! Anyone who knows me…or has read much from me, knows gardening is my passion! I think most anyone who has seen my yard, or pictures of my flowers will agree…I have a green thumb…and I’m sharing one of my secrets with you today. Whether it’s one of my garden bugs, flowerpots from Junk…or my ladybug bowling ball…I love gardens, and blooms and I make no bones about it. But, without a little bit of help…my gardens or my flowers wouldn’t be what they are. My go to for supplies and help Miracle-Gro….Hands down it’s the product(s) I turn to. I absolutely wouldn’t dream of using anything but their Moisture Control Potting Mix. This stuff is just amazing for our hot and dry elements.
Today…I’m sharing my little succulent garden step by step photographs with you, but you may not have a toolbox to plant yours in…and you may not have this taste. Miracle-Gro has several projects with step by step instructions and a supply list to get you started on your own project…Click here to go to The Gro Project page on Facebook…and pick your own project out! OH…they also have some printables that you can download also…so be sure you grab some of those while you’re there!

Fill approx 1/2 full of miracle-Gro moisture control potting soil. Find the plant placement you like.

fill around your plants with dirt. I’m not filling quite to the top of mine…so I have room for pebbles

Arrange anything extra. I added some decorative rocks and a piece of driftwood to add interest to the shallow portion of the toolbox
Don’t forget…be sure you have adequate drainage…plants don’t like their little feet to sit in water all the time.
Did you know….Miracle-Gro has a pinterest site? Oh man! You’ve never seen so many fun garden projects>and photographs crammed in one place! This is a MUST for any gardening enthusiast to follow! I love looking at their boards for inspiration!
If you have any questions about any gardening problem, need or just general advice…you can find almost all the answers and help on their website too. They have an extensive source of information from when and how to fertilize your lawn to bugs and rodents to weed control and birds. Miracle-Gro online has expansive library of articles and videos full of expert gardening tips for beginners and professionals alike as well as online tools to help growers solve common garden problems and find the right products to help anyone keep a healthy and beautiful garden.

I made a junk garden angel for my mom for mother’s day. I used an old fence post, old spindles, aluminum corner porch décor for the wings, an old flat strainer/colander for the face, added a crown, and a 50¢ garage sale china cup to her arms filled with a succulent. I added an old torn table runner for her dress. This is my first “craft” project as I have four kids, two who are now in college, one in HS, and one in JH, and I work full time, and just finished my master’s degree! My mom suffered a life changing stroke a year and a half ago. I think she will love her “garden angel!”
Terri…I’m sorry to hear about your mom. I agree…I think she will LOVE her garden angel too! I would LOVE to see her before you give her away! I am gonna try to do a special “Reader’s Project” post from this…if I get enough of these…If you want…I would love to show her off. If so…my email is tam_kil@yahoo(dot)com Thanks for sharing your story!
Tammy
I sent a pic of junk angel to your email! Thank you, and Happy Mother’s Day!
You too Terri! 😀
