Potpourri Wreath
With wreaths being the topic of this week, I thought that no dedicated wreath topic would be complete without this jewel. I began to think about this project when I was working on the book page wreath. I’m not sure the relationship….but at any rate…somehow they are related in my mind.
I found some potpourri at a Burk’s outlet…and somehow guessed it wasn’t gonna be enough…so for filler I bought a $5.00 bag of coordinating potpourri at Wal-mart. The two were just enough to finish off this 12 foam wreath that you can also pick up at Wal-mart. I took a picture of my supplies…but for some reason they just didn’t show up in my camera…and I didn’t know it till the wreath was done. But, let’s be serious, we all know what potpourri and hot glue looks like. 😀
Between the wreath, hot glue, and the potpourri…you have a very inexpensive wreath. I think the whole project might have cost me $10.00.
Start by covering your wreath in either burlap, or moss. This covers the green, that most likely will show in places as the potpourri is bulky and hard to completely covering every little space of the wreath. By taking the filler…or less pretty potpourri…and covering the base of the wreath….you’ll space the elements out all around the base of the wreath. Now, take your nicer potpourri and elements, and fill in the spaces.
I looped a pretty ribbon around mine, and that’s what I did for a hanger. Simple as pie.
It’s almost the end of the week. Do you have a favorite wreath yet? I’m kinda crushing on this beachy style wreath…..Extra bonus…..SMELLS AWESOME!
