Goodwill Pillow Turns Coffee Ad

Goodwill Pillow Turns Coffee Ad

Shopping at Goodwill always renders a surprise.  I never know what I’ll come across.  One of the things I always do when I’m there is keep an open mind, and watch for anything that could be useful as is…or with a new life.

Last week I spent the ENTIRE week in Dr.’s offices.  As stress relief on Friday I needed stay in Lubbock all day to have tests done…so in between visits, I went to snoop about my haunts in Lubbock.  I didn’t turn up much…I guess no one has been cleaning out stuff.

I DID however snag me another feather pillow!!!  And…take a look at the price on that bad boy!!! :D This baby is going to go with my roman shade from mini blinds for the sun room!

Goodwill Pillow Now, while I’m not a huge fan of army green, I am a huge fan of feather pillows.  I have several coffee bags that I haven’t converted to roman shades yet, and while I should be busy getting those done…I wanted an accessories for my sun room….hahaha as if I don’t have enough sitting around the house! lol

I made two super simple squares from the bags.  I made them 1/2″ larger on each side for seam allowance.  I had plans to sew it, as usual, inside out.  But, when I sat down to sew it…I changed my mind…and opted to sew it right sides out!  I wanted frayed edges.  Regular fringe just didn’t seem right in this application…however…I’m thinking on that one.  So, the seams don’t get any easier!

  1. I love that pillow!

  2. I love this pillow Tammy! I would keep it of course.

  3. Just wondering…. where the heck do you find the coffee bags? At a grocery store or at Good Will too? Sure would love to make a few of thee. I have plain burlap but the ad on the side is what I think makes the pillow. I find all kinds of great things at Good Will and Value Village and other 2cd hand stores.. I upscale them mostly into things that I use in my flower beds that go all around my yard and I recently screened in my deck so I have a nice Summer area enclosed with lights and décor that is so homey. Anyways, Love! Love! Love your site! Have a great day!

    • I found mine on ebay. I’ve seen them other places…although I can’t recall where. Do a search for coffee bean sacks. I bet you’ll find them. I know you can order them on ebay for sure.
