Glass Globe Snowmen
Hey Y’all! Today…I have a guest! I’m just about as excited as I can get over it too! Bliss Ranch is in the house Y’all, and if you haven’t been to their site…get your hiney over there…but not till you see what she has in store for you here! We’re having one more Christmas project to finish off the Holidays…then…we’re gonna start on the New Year’s activities!
Bliss Ranch is an amazing blog…and well worth several hours of your time to snoop around and see all her amazing projects….I don’t even feel worthy of having her here…but I’m super glad she is! And this project….OMG…is just A-DOR-A-BLE!!! Be sure to tell her how darling it is!
It’s beginning to look a little like Christmas…….well at all the other blogs that is. It’s a bit frosty at my place.
I’m Bliss from the Bliss Ranch blog stopping in at Deja Vue Designs with a simple Winter decorating idea.
Get a container of some kind – I had a crate – and some round glass globes, and you can have snowman heads too. Yup, just their heads. People have to build their own…..just add snow!
Assembly Required |
There isn’t an amazing tutorial to go along with this. It was that simple and that quick. A quick project at my house means DO IT NOW and thank you very much.
This window display needed to have a little more of a festive look and I wanted some lights in there. A few red bows and the lights in the hollow glass globes were perfect. Two are crackle glass and so very pretty with lights inside.
I called all hands on deck for this, I had about an hour before it needed to be in the window. My daughter made a stove pipe hat out of black construction paper as I cut out coal eyes and mouths. My son popped a black stocking cap on the other globe as his contribution to the project.
The carrot noses are where that DO IT NOW and thank you very much part comes in. It sounded more like, “Brawn, would you mind whittling me three snowmen noses and spray painting them orange?…. NOW by the way!”
A dab of hot glue holds the carrots in place, as well as the eyes and mouth.
I ripped up some flannel (from the Halloween bin that was still out) for their scarves and filled in with some white garland. I tucked a broom (also from the Halloween bin) and some sticks from the yard inside the crate for proper snowman dressing.
You have to assemble them yourself.
It contains everything you need….. eyes, carrot nose, scarfs, twigs for arms, Frosty’s broom…… but please don’t bring the snow. We’ll have plenty of that before long.
Everyone is welcome to stop in at the ranch, you just never know what sort of project I’ll be up too!
