Fall Decorations
As I’m writing this, I’m still on hiatus in Montana…and here, the nights are getting some cooler. However, I’ve been surprised that they aren’t colder than they’ve been. With football and school all getting into full swing…it won’t be long till Halloween. That’s generally when I break out the Fall Fashion around the house. This year…the gals over at LCI and I have decided to have a little Fall party….so the festivities are beginning a bit early…so that we can show you how to make some of what we’ve got going on. I decided for my project, I’d do a couple of things.
Remember last week when I posted my leaf template? Did you get busy making some leaves? I hope so….cause this is project one. My festive fall swag. This….once you have the leaves all cut out, takes next to no time to make. You could use it to lay across the fireplace…on the table for decoration, or as a swag around a doorway or mirror. I’m gonna do a little make over here at the travel trailer. I’m gonna do the makeover here at Deja Vue Designs, and the tutorial over at Live Creatively Inspired for the fall party.
She does look darling all stretched out along the table….which by the way, would be adorable for a festive dinner table decoration. Picture it with candles, and pumpkins all stretched out ready to break bread with friends and family. (Please be careful with those candles…I don’t want anyone to have a flambe for dinner)
I had a small mirror/corner in the trailer that needed some life, so it became the focus of a fall makeover. Here is a shot of the corner before.
Like most travel trailer decor….not much to look at. Just an ordinary entrance. I made my swag and painted the mirror with some craft paint I had laying around. How lucky was I?…Dave’s landlord just happens to be growing pumpkins and some neat looking squash. I spent about 30 minutes total…that’s not including the swag…just to paint and wait for it to dry, and Bob’s your uncle.
I have a festive area….that’ll be good to go till I decorate for Christmas! Speaking of which…did you happen to see the lamp I made for Lamps Plus and Hometalk’s December Holiday Lamp Challenge? Here’s the swag with a table sat below it. Sorry y’all….the styling isn’t fabulous…it’s really hard to find a spot to photograph in such limited quarters. See that pumpkin? What do you think? There was a tree that died, and all it’s bark is falling off. I took the small pieces, and broke the larger ones down…and hot glued them to a pumpkin. I really loved how it turned out. You just glue the pieces on….fill in all the gaps…and overlap if you need to. I REALLY like how rustic it looks. I can’t wait to get it home, I think it’ll look awesome with my all white and burlap decor! Which, by the way, I’m giving you a sneak peak at it too! 😀
I’m LOVING these burlap sunflowers this year too!
These leaves, mixed with some burlap pennants are a really cool base for a festive fall banner.
How bout a place card for a fun fall dinner…..
I love this look.
Want to see more? Well…You better head over to Live Creatively Inspired…and see my tutorial for the swag…so you can make one of your own! Oh…and you can see my gorgeous natural/neutral swag and vignette, with several other fun vignettes… You want to have it little sneaky peeky?
I know…that’s kinda cruel isn’t it? Well….get over to LCI…and you can see how to make them! 😀
Oh…and in case you missed it last week, you can see how I used my natural swag with a GORGEOUS Fall topiary too!
