Planter box: decorating with junk
Y’all know I love decorating with junk. You might have figured out….I like a good planter box too! Today….I’m combining both!
Do you ever think about a project….know there’s something to do…and know it’ll be something you’ll love…but it won’t come out? That’s the situation I have been in with this sink. I thought for some time that it would be a fountain….and I have a different one that may become just that. But this week…if you did or didn’t know…I did the “Think outside the pot” hangout for sponsored by (By the way, here’s a chance to win one of my gas can junk flower pots….Just follow the instructions on the page that is linked here. There are bullets at the bottom of the post….just read those…and you’ll be set. You’re gonna love Hometalk)>>>>> Hometalk.
You can watch our video here….
Anyway…I was finishing up the last of my flowerpot demonstrations…and this project came to me….what if I joined two of my favorite things….and old vintage door….and a planter box. Well…that’s all well and good…but I wanted something super unique for the planter box…not just the ordinary. Y’all know me…I’m just that way. Well…
This gorgeous yellow vintage door that I got from a sweet friend of mine…Christie Allen….was THE one! I had the vintage sink already…and the two…they are just perfect together. All planted up…they are resting against the cottage wall. Now…it’s a little simple right now….but she’ll fill in over time.
I abosolutely LOVE that purple with the soft yellows. Well? What’s the verdict? Do y’all like them? Would you use a sink for a planer box?…and would you pair it up with an old vintage door?
Love Y’all!

I LOVE it. I have an old sink and couldn’t decide what do to with it. AND I just bought an old 2 foot door. NOW….with the the two together, it will look awesome on the old cobblestone patio my husband and I just finished making this week. THANK YOU….thank you. Two questions: How did you attach the sink ONTO the door? AND is the door aupported by anything?
Tammy says
The door is just leaning…but you could screw it onto a wall. To attach the sink: I screwed a 2×4 onto the door. Then I sat the sink down on the 2×4 and got some washers…and screwed down through the faucet holes into the 2×4. Let me know if that helps! Thanks Joyce! 🙂
