About Tammy
Hi! My name is Tammy….and I’m an addict!
I’m addicted to:
God, Husband, Children, Grand children, Art, Gardening, Up-cycling and Blogging!
God of course is FIRST and FOREMOST in my life. I’m not perfect….but he’s not through with me yet!
I have Loved art and Gardening since I can remember! When I was about five, my mother gave me my own little spot in the garden….and that flame was forever lit!
I grew up in a really small town….and still live very near it. I think I probably knew 90% of the population! The closest major metro area would be Lubbock/Dallas.
I started my family early…and didn’t go straight to college. When I did finally get around to that…I fell IN LOVE with learning. I started in the nursing field…and just couldn’t stand being cooped up. I had to take an art class…and discovered that I Loved art equally as much as I loved Science. This started a tug of war in my soul, until I realized that art wasn’t gonna pay the bills in a small farming community! lol I switched back to Science and became a Paramedic. I broke my back and pretty much “blew” that career….so here I am….back to art.
During art school…two of my professors hired me to work for them…and I did both jobs for the duration of my college days. Encouraged by them…I entered several art shows…and just happened to win several prestigious awards! This got my work noticed by a gallery and now I have pieces (paintings and photography) in a couple of galleries. Although I love both of these mediums….I seriously LOVE all forms of art! Recycling/Re-purposing HAS to be my favorite….and most challenging. It forces me to constantly think.
My husband and I raised four children….three boys, and the youngest…The PRINCESS! They were a his mine and ours situation. Together they have given us five BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, WONDERFUL Grandchildren.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking old, used up items, that no one else wants and breathing new life into them. Usually giving them a new look….and a new purpose….hence the statement and name! Upon the prompting of family and friends….I began this blog so that they could keep up with me…and learn some of the techniques I use….and get ideas/inspiration. I hope that everyone that comes here…we stay and learn/interact. I ADORE my readers/subscribers…and I LOVE hearing from everyone of Y’all! Feel free to contact me also….any time!
Love Y’all!
Tammy
Me and Hubby….One of the few we have together…..I’m usually behind the camera!
Man…I love this guy! You’d think after twenty+ years we’d be sick of each other….but I think it’s Better!!!

I’m hoping to be at the party. I get up really early, a problem I’ve had for a decade or more. At any rate, due to this, my night night alarm goes off pretty early. We will see how this evening goes! 🙂 I will head over to visit with you!

Hello,
My name is Sam Marquit, I am an independent ‘green’ contractor and co-author of Fair Marquit Value. I have seen firsthand the implementation of new innovative sustainable practices in the corporate world and on a smaller scale, at the home front. By 2020, the green industry is expected to total more than $254 billion! I believe it is encouraging to see companies and homes of different sizes embrace going green.
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the subject. I would love to work with you by collaborating on a post about various sustainable projects as it applies to businesses and homes. It is truly an important topic that will push the green industry for further innovation.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Sam

Tammy this is my first time visiting and as I read your post my heart grew so heavy. Heavy from knowing exactly where you are. I call it the dark night of the soul and if Jesus did not go through this with me and hold me and in His time pull me up out of the pit I don’t think I could survive. It is hard for people to understand that you cannot just buck up. There is no buck up. We sometimes just hang on and believe and have faith that God is with us. We put one foot in front of the other on our best days and keep moving so we don’t drown. I struggle with chronic pain as well and I know that that just constantly draws on your ability to stay strong. I won’t write a book. I was unable to e-mail for some reason but I am praying for you. For you to even write this tells me you are going to be okay. I’m going to follow you via e-mail . Love and prayers, Wanda

Wanda, Thank you so much. Yes…I know what you mean by having Jesus with you. I had a grandmother that was a minister, and I’m so thankful every day for the faith that she and my grandfather instilled in me at a very young age. Yes…I will be okay, and I know that…even in the darkest times, I keep the hope that God heals us all. I really had a hard time sharing this…for many reasons, but I’m glad I did…and I’m so glad you found it! Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers! I will keep you in mine also!

Dear Tammy,
I believe there are no coincidences in life and how I got to this page is not by accident. I just signed up on “Twirl and Take a Bow” and saw that you recently lost a son and my heart just broke. They said to keep you in prayer. And if it helps in any small, tiny way, I will do just that. I can’t imagine the loss or the feelings. I only know what I saw my mother suffer through when she watched 3 of her children go to heaven before her. Granted, they were adults at the time of their passing (59, 54 and 45), but the heartache was just as great. And by the grace of God, and with lots of prayer, she was able to smile again. I pray that you will smile again, if not in the knowledge that your son is OK, but your children will see you smile.. Love and prayers from a stranger,
Christiann

Christiann, Thank you so much for your kind words. This has been a real challenge. It’s so unnatural to lose a child. It is a daily struggle to start to live in any way once this occurs. I am struggling every day to just function in any manner. I appreciate the prayers, they are what gets me through each day. Thanks again! ~Tammy

Hi Tammy, I happened upon your site and saw how you lost your son last February. Its just over a year, and I would like you to know I am going to carry and hold you in prayer. I cannot imagine the loss you must feel, but God does. He will get you through this, one day at a time. God bless and keep you!
XOXO,
Mary

Tammy, I am about to do the curve bench with my chairs. The question I have how did you do the middle chair? Did you remove the front legs and attached the chair to the outer chair legs?
