10 hot beverages for cold weather
When I think of winter and cold weather, one of the first things that comes to my mind are memories of sipping hot chocolate at the football games…with my drink cupped between my mitten clad hands. Huddled under a blanket with my besties, is where my mind goes for winter memories. It never seemed to mater how warm it got during the days, come game night, you were gonna need your mittens and toboggan. Do you have memories like that? Maybe football wasn’t a big sport where you live…but here in Texas…well….let’s just say, it’s THE FALL SPORT. I’ll never forget screaming until our voices were gone, and voting for homecoming king and queen.
My Sophomore year I became a flag girl, Oh to go back and wear those hideous lovely GO GO boots and double-knit skirts again. I’m not sure my heart could stand it. Between the routine of the flags and being seen in those outfits, I might die of embarrassment. I drove a little Volkswagen VW at the time, and my flag pole had to be maneuvered just so to get it into my car. It extended from the front windsheild…to the back window. The memories of driving that bug around town will always be with me. My best friends and I had so much fun in that car. We would all pile in, sometimes in an effort to see how many we could cram into that little tin can. I can’t remember the record, but let’s just say it was a dogpile from wall to wall in my Fahrvergnügen. It didn’t have the best record of anything, except falling apart. I recall one time, I was gonna teach my best friend to drive….and we had an experience of a life time…and had a little chat with the local highway patrol that night…..BUT, that’s a story for another day. Remind me…and I’ll tell it to you sometime.
